Its very simple - people need water and we can supply it.  The Black Rock Desert is not known for its abundant spring water.  As burners we know it is a pain in the arse to drag water from home and almost as difficult to pick it up on the way in.  Water weighs more than 8 pounds a gallon, and at the recommended 1.5 -2 gallons minimum a day - that translates into 84-112 pounds more per person to haul. 

We provide water at a modest cost and this is how we partially fund our open pub at Burningman so the rest of the peeps can get watered as well.  We have 8000 - 12000 gallons to sell this year and 4400 was sold as of Fourth of July weekend.  If enough people need it, we can add another run but then it starts to turn into a business that we never intended to run.
